Pantai Merah, or simply the pink beach on Komodo Island, is one of seven pink sand beaches across the world. Situated in the eastern part of Komodo Island, only a few people know about this beautiful beach. Thus, people also call it a hidden paradise.

What makes the sand appear pink under the sun are microscopic residents, organisms called Foraminifera.
